The Reader Validator solution works based on the utilization of two main components, the model BEA-AEP Futura 3 Reader Validator in conjunction with the Operator Console Unit

The BEA Smart Bus Validator is an Android-based, industrial grade tablet computer that enables passengers to pay their fares electronically.


Mounted near the farebox at the entrance of a bus or trolley, the Smart Bus Validator supports several methods of contactless payment. As they board, passengers may tap a contactless smart card or bankcard1, present a smartphone using near field communications (with or without a mobile
wallet1) or BLE, scan a QR code printed on a ticket, or present a QR code displayed on their mobile device.

 

The Smart Bus Validator can serve as a standalone unit or be combined with the BEA Smart Farebox (for cash fare processing). Its onboard, 4G cellular modem eliminates the need for a separate modem and provides reliable, direct connection to a central, account-based fare system for realtime validation and fare processing.
 

The Smart Bus Validator is a high-function, low-cost solution for electronic fare payment processing, designed for integration with virtually any 3rd-party automated fare
collection system.
